Show historic services

2007

The site was guarded by three vigilant black labradors so I knocked on the door of the farmhouse and explained what I was doing, the dogs were locked in the house and I was granted access.

Mottram was built by the IBA to serve about 470 people in Hyde Road, Market Street, Back Lane and part of John Kennedy Road and Longdale Drive in Longdendale. An area about half a mile to the southeast of the Tx site. Mottram entered service on 2-Oct-1987.

The lower set of toed-in logs are the receive aerial. There must be some difficulty with multipath from Glossop, perhaps from the church just above the service area.

The distant shot is of the Glossop tower from the site.

The proposed Mottram and Tintwistle bypass will run right by this farm.
