Comments: Mynydd Bach is a relay of Wenvoe

Updated September 2011 & July 2016 with wind turbine

Originally an IBA landlord site, BBC 1 & 2 entered service in 1972, with ITV from 14th September 1973 and S4C from the launch on 1st November 1982. The UHF cylinder contains a north-west facing cardioid. DSO was on 3rd and 31st March 2010.

Hywel has provided an update to David's earlier photos - no real change to the relay itself - together with a few views from the site. Looked pretty in as the sun went down last night

At least one further equipment cabin has been added, but on the broadcast side still a cylinder and the two troughs - characteristic of an early UHF relay.

Hywel notes that the hoops have been removed from the ladder. Otherwise it's mostly mobile phone antennas and their associated SHF links which have changed.

Hywel added this picture in July 2016 of Mynydd Bach on a summer evening, with nearby Wind turbine

Looking towards Mynedd Y Lan (possibly once a "Home Office" site - not used for broadcasting).
