Comments: Tynewydd is a relay of Wenvoe (via Rhondda). Pre B700 allocations: 59/50/55.

Show historic services

Ben: This relay is located in the North-Eastern part of the town of Tynewydd.

It's actually in the Water treatment works, and as such there is no access available. I had to park as close as I could, still a good 200m away (and below!), so these were the best shots I could get.

Four pairs of vertically polarised crossed logs transmit, one log periodic receives. The receive log is vertical and reception is from the Rhondda relay.

Originally an IBA landlord site, TV channels 1 - 3 entered service on 7th July 1978, with S4C available from the launch on 1st November 1982. DSO was on the 3rd and 31st March 2010.
