Comments: Briton Ferry is a relay of Kilvey Hill

Show historic services

April 2009

The Briton Ferry relay is located in Pencaerau, at the top of Wheatley Road. Access was simple as the road runs right past the base of the tower. This part of Neath affords great views South-Westward to the target areas of Llandarcy and Briton Ferry itself.

It's a veritable log-fest with no less than six pairs of vertically polarised crossed log periodics providing coverage to the target areas, and four vertically polarised single logs being used for the reception of the parent station Kilvey Hill - itself a relay of Wenvoe.

Briton Ferry was originally an IBA landlord site which entered service on 21-Sep-1979. S4C was available from the launch on 1-Nov-1982.
