DIVIS A

Photos by Nathan Dane Page last updated: 2024-06-14

June 2024

There have been a few changes up at Divis since the last entry here. I suspect there may be preperations afoot to move everything to mast B - most notably (and most recently) the UHF antenna has disappeared from A, as well as various old microwave link dishes.

View of the site from the National Trust-owned 'Divis Trail', which became very popular over the Covid-19 lockdown.

Top of mast A - notice the UHF panels are now all gone

Compare mast A in these photos from 2019 (left) and 2024 (right). Main feature is the loss of the UHF panels at the very top, as well as some directly below - and the structure is now almost completely clear of microwave dishes. Looks like the only main antenna still carried on A is the VHF panel. If the plan is to eventually move this to B as well it's height will be compromised by the standby UHF panels.
