EYEMOUTH

Photos by Steve Buckley and Mark Carver Page last updated: 2024-02-18

Eyemouth was originally an IBA landlord site which entered service on 15-Mar-1974 to serve 4400 people. Channel 4 was added on 14-Nov-1986. DSO was on 6/20-Nov-2008.

ILR Borders (Radio Borders), launched on 22-Jan-1990. BBC national DAB entered service on 18-Sep-2009.

Mark Carver visited the site in June 2017. Owing to some potential threatening bovine behaviour en route to the site, he was forced to take these distant photos, but it can be seen the lower RBL trough has been replaced with a modern Sira panel. This is due to parent station Selkirk's migration from the 700 MHz band, into a lower frequency part of the UHF band that occurred during 2017

...also at the top of the mast, a cantilever pole has been added to accommodate dipoles for the BBC DAB Mux.

The year was 1991. Radio's 1 & 4 became available once the re-engineering
work at the parent station, Ashkirk was completed in July that year.
