Show historic services

March 2006

It took three visits to Dromore to find this site but I got there in the end. No-one that I can see in Dromore uses the Tx. I spoke with a farmer who told me that it used to be located on his land at the bottom of one of his fields. Sure enough there's a mobile tower and two half former telegraph poles where he took me. According to someone else it was moved to another site. A new housing development was built around it and it ended up in someone's back yard. They didn't know what it was until I asked if I could look at it. Strange but to sum up the published NGR is wrong but here it is! There are several mobile towers at and close to this site. Seems the mobile companies have not yet learnt to share!

Dromore was originally an IBA landlord site which entered service in December 1988.

I've included a shot of what must be the original poles at the original site.
