Comments: Bruton is a relay of Mendip

Show historic services

August 2007

This is a fairly hard site to find and photograph as it is well hidden by trees and not readily visible from Bruton itself. It was also impossible to take any photos of the target area from near the site. It makes me wonder how much signal gets through the trees in the summer.

Bruton is in a valley with hills to the north shielding the lower parts of the town. Elsewhere most aerials pointed towards Mendip with a few towards Stockland Hill (which is in line with the valley).

Bruton was originally an IBA landlord site which entered service on 7-Jul-1978 to serve 1,030 people.
Channel 4 was added on 5-Dec-1986. DSO was on 24-Mar and 7-Apr-2010.
