Mike drove past this relay at Chiseldon regularly on his way to North Wales and always figured that when he wasn't in a hurry he'd try and stop, to take some photos. Apart from the widely spaced channel allocations it had during its analogue TV life (30, 34, 49, 67) it was a fairly bog-standard relay of Mendip, in an enclosure at the end of someone's garden. We're not sure what the folded V pol dipole was for ?
Chiseldon was originally an IBA landlord site which entered service in October 1982 with Channel 4 available from the start. The ERP of Channel 4 on ch67 was increased by 6dB towards the end of 2000 as a consequence of interim DTT coverage equalisation at Mendip. |
