Comments: Ashford-in-the-Water is a relay of Waltham (via Stanton Moor)

The Ashford-in-the Water UHF relay site in the Derbyshire Peak District. The site serves an area along the A6 from Ashford to Bakewell.

This was one of the coldest TX visits that I have ever done, and it didn't help that I needed to cross a sodden field of sheep excrement in order to reach it. Needless to say, the future Mrs. Moore was none too happy at the mess my shoes made of the car upon my return!

Ashford-in-the-Water entered service in September 1980 as a relay of Sutton Coldfield. Site number 102.34. During the spring of 1984, it was re-assigned to Waltham as site number 111.11. Channel 4 was added in May 1987. DSO was on the 17th and 31st August 2011.

The first 7 pictures are from Richard.

Just look at the colours in this photo - I think they're amazing. Shame this photo is horizontally polarised - it would have made stunning desktop wallpaper!

Justin supplied the final picture and comments:

This pic of Ashford In The Water is one of my favorites and I thought it would suitably grace the pages of MB21.

Ashford in the Water looking ENE on the 7th Dec 2008. A beautiful clear winter`s day, and this was the result.
