Romaldkirk Pictures taken 2009 and more recently 2013.

Romaldkirk Transmitter, known more locally as Scarney Hill.

Originally a BBC landlord site, TV channels 1 - 3 entered service on 5th March 1982, with Channel 4 available from the launch on 2nd November 1982. DSO was on 12th and 26th September 2012.

Radio Teesdale was added in 2007.

8 grouped log periodics are used for television broadcasting at the top of the mast. A solarity shf microwave antenna appears to receive a source feed rather than the customary off air procedure?

[Ed] The programme feed is a conventional RBL. See next set of pictures.
