A few weeks back, for a dog show, I spent a week in the Royal Welsh showground. On the only day the sun shone I decided to take a walk and try and locate the TV mast. It's well camouflaged in the forest above the show ground. So with a map and umbrella I set off up the hill.
The first problem was that the footpath shown on the map was well and truly overgrown so it looked like my adventure was over. But just has I turned back the farmer came by and asked what I was doing. He laughs but give me permission to walk through his fields to reach the footpath further up the hill. I thanked him for is kindness and onward went. I stop on the way up to take some shots of the town and the beautiful scenery. I then had to take the path through the forest which was quite slippery and muddy, but got to the top . Checked the map to locate the mast, and taking the dirt track for about 150m, came to the gate. Out came the camera and found that the trees overhang the site stopped me from taking photos of the top of the mast. So had to fight my way through the brambles and trees to get a better spot and finally got these pictures. (Some days wished I took up a different hobby than photography).
