The site is actually located in the village of Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen, some miles north of Neath and Swansea. Could this be one of the only TV transmitters in the UK, sited WITHIN the boundaries of a school playing field? [Ed]. Norden is also within school grounds. The village Welsh language primary school, Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg, seems to have a mast in it's playing field! The village of Cwmgors is the target area for the transmitter, about a mile further south.

Cwmgors was originally an IBA landlord site which entered service on 28-Oct-1983 to serve 800 people.

The transmit aerials pointing south.
