Comments: Llansawel is a relay of Carmel (via Talley)

Show historic services

The village of Llansawel lies to the north of the A40 between Llandovery and Carmarthen. This road follows the relatively flat (for Wales at least) Towy valley. Reception from Carmel along this route is fairly straightforward, the transmitter being visible for much of the way. Stray off the beaten track however. . .

The TX aerials are log periodics but the Rx aerial is a rather shiny vertically polarised yagi pointing towards the Talley relay about 2.5 miles to the south-east. Llansawel was originally a BBC landlord site which entered service in May 1986.
