Show historic services

Apparently in the middle of nowhere (with due apologies to the residents of the area!) Weaverthorpe held the distinction of being Belmont's first relay station when it opened for business on 12th March 1982. Channel 4 was available from the launch on 2nd November 1982.

Since Bill took his pictures, Weaverthorpe has had a load of mobile cell antennas installed as part of the government's Mobile Infrastructure Project, which is aimed at bringing reception to remote rural areas.
