October 2010

Visited late in the afternoon during October 2010. Despite our initial expectation of difficult access, it turned out that the site was adjacent to a road of good standard.

The photos of the relay have been tweaked a bit - those of the scenery are as they came out of the camera.

Strathallan entered service with 3 UHF TV channels during September 1981. Channel 4 was added in March 1987.

DSO was on the 4th and 18th August 2010.




Amongst all the other metalwork we have two pairs of crossed logs for transmit and a single log for receive.






Another "A" sticker. Must mean something?


Weather coming - time to go! The next three photos were taken on arrival at the site about five minutes before.








En-route we wasted some time trying to reach the site in the centre...
