| Situated on the very edge of the island, steeped in history. The bungalow next to the transmitter used to be the BBC's engineer official residence. The current owner explained that there used to be a bell that rang to call him to the site to adjust settings. The kind gentleman said he and his wife came home one day last year (2017) and noted that all the large microwave dishes had been removed (see my previous visit 5 years ago). He also said during a terrific storm, his own satellite dish was blown off, but the transmitter suffered no damage. I wonder how he receives his TV signal now. |
