At the top of the mast the new antenna is bolted into place and the lifting straps removed.


Meanwhile, back on the ground more fuel is delivered for the helicopter.


Inside the old cylinder. We understand the original antenna ws made by CSA, who also manufacture the standard BBC rugged log periodic.


Due to width of the cylinder, the spine which supported the analogue antenna had a mechanism which allowed the spine to rest on the side of the cylinder and allow staff access to the antenna and above via the fibre glass ladders.
