Comments: Hastings (Old Town) is a relay of Heathfield (via Hastings). Pre B700 allocations: 50/59/55

The main Hastings relay - arguably a main station after DSO - has a cardioid radiation pattern which places the Old Town area in a null. This explains the need for an 18-element yagi. The target area is virtually at sea level, with the relay being on a ridge just above.

The site appears to have been refurbished since Dave's photos: new pole complete with bird scarer and "fall arrest system", plus a coat of green paint. The configuration remains unchanged.

Another location where the "legacy" site number has been lost.

Despite appearances, the relay is outside the school fence. In fact it's on a public footpath.

The green paint seems a bit bright. The pole was possibly installed during 2010.

At the top we have an 18-element yagi for receive and two pairs of crossed logs for transmit. The birds are clearly not troubled by the metal "woodpecker" below...
