Pwll Glas is a relay of Moel-Y-Parc, serving the small village of the same name, halfway between Ruthin and Corwen on the A494(T).
The site is on private land at the back of a farm. There didn't appear to be any public rights of way nearby, so this was as close as I could get with my camera. Even though the mast is clearly visible from up and down the valley it serves, there was a real distinct lack of roof mounted tv aerials aimed at this relay. This may explain why I have driven past it hundreds of times and passed it off as a purely telecoms mast.
Pwll-glas entered service on 25th April 1985. The original structure was a 17m wooden pole. |
