Grantown Receiving Tower

Some old but undated pictures showing the VHF receiving antennas and tower at Grantown. The tower appears to be have been located approximately where the present mobile phone tower stands.

The two Yagi's at the top are pointing at Rosemarkie which was the RBL source for R.Scotland during the 1980's and 1990's. This arrangement provided Grantown with Radio Highland opt-out programmes. The lower four Yagi's point towards Meldrum, the RBL source Radio's 1 - 4 until July 2003. The two arms near to the top on the left are probably the remnants of the band I receive aerials which pointed towards Rosemarkie.
