THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY
ODIHAM
Photos by Mark Carver | Page last updated: 2021-04-02 |
After reports that an additional Basingstoke L-Mux signal was being received in the area east of Odiham on UHF E27 Mark was prompted to investigate further. The site is within the RAF Odiham base, so Mark took the photos from the main public highway, from a position north west of the site. |
The cantilever pole supports the D1 DAB array, that has been there some years. However left bottom of the picture shows four logs that are directed eastwards. These are very likely to form the DTT L-Mux array. |
A closer shot |
Slightly lower on the other side of the mast appear to be four shrouded logs, that are directed towards Hannington. So very likely the Rx array for the relay. Hannington is clearly visible from the site, but the four logs are likely to be required as the received signal on E32 will be subject to CCI from PSB 1 Mendip, which is only a few degrees off beam. This is probably why the relay is required, to mitigate against this, and also CCI from COM 6 Guildford |
