FM RSL site and SSDAB added

University Radio York (URY) have obtained a Long Term RSL to broadcast on 88.3 MHz, following a one year trial. The initial license covers 2022-09-01 to 2027-08-31.

The transmitter for URY has been installed in the third floor toilets of the JB Morrell Library, with the aerial installed on the roof of the library.

The JB Morrell Library building viewed from the bridge crossing University Road. There are a number of aerials on the roof of the building in addition to the VHF broadcast aerial. None of the aerials are visible from this side of the building, being located more on the north side of the roof.

The JB Morrell Library viewed from North Car Park with several groups of aerials on the roof. The right hand side looks to consist of UHF business radio alongside a TV aerial. The FM broadcast aerial is on its own on the left hand side.
The TV aerial seems to be pointing north east, with Bilsdale and Emley Moor serving here, but neither is in the direction the TV aerial is pointing.

I think this is the FM broadcast aerial.

The white pole (end fed band III dipole), is believed to be the transmit aerial for the York small scale DAB, which launched during April 2024.
