February 2017

Cabin FM started broadcasting to three local hospital's Queen Victoria, Strode Park and Campfield's via land line in the early 1970's, in the 80's using band I from the Cabin youth centre in Herne Bay, also producing recorded newspapers and books for the blind. Sometime in 2000 the studio moved into a building at the local football club and started broadcasting online. Running RSL's from there was a great success resulting in 2017 they were awarded a Community Radio licence, in 2019 the studio moved to the Council Offices Nuptune Hub in the town centre, in 2021 the Transmitter and antenna were installed there.

The studio is the building on the left, using a lighting tower to support the dipoles, one in use the other as spare. A required null to the north was provided by the tower.
