The Glade Lane mast is located at the end of a Park next to the Grand Union Canal just on the edge of Southall. The site was originally built for Southall's Sunrise Radio which launched on the 5-Nov-1989 on
1413 kHz. In 1994 Sunrise Radio took over the high powered BBC GLR AM slot at Brookmans Park on
1458 kHz, and Glade Lane closed. On 5-Jan-1998 the site was brought back into use transmitting Liberty Radio on 972 kHz. Glade Lane supplemented Liberty's existing transmitter site at Lea Bridge Road, bringing a stronger signal to West London. A second service, Desi Radio, was added on 1602 kHz from 10-May-2002 and a third service was added on 4-Apr-2019 when Lyca Dil Se transferred its 1035 kHz transmitter from
Crystal Palace.

Despite the mast configuration, Glade Lane has a omni-directional radiation pattern under the present license.

The mast is adjacent to Brunel's well known "Three Bridges"
where road, canal and railway cross at the same point.
