Here are a few pictures of the Derby UHF relay, situated at Littleover, approximately 2 miles southwest of the centre of Derby. The tower is situated in the grounds of the Derbyshire Fire Service HQ, and was also used by them for their VHF radio system.

This is a relay of Waltham providing East Midlands regional programming to central Derby. An area otherwise served by the West Midlands programming from Sutton Coldfield. Its location, to the southwest of the city centre, places it in about the same direction as Sutton Coldfield. Also the use of horizontal polarisation meant that existing aerials could be used. A transmitter for ITV on ch.30, 100W ERP entered service in the mid 1990's. A transmitter for BBC 1 on ch.48 at 200W ERP was added in February 2000. Post DSO all three PSB multiplexes are transmitted from here.

Unfortunately the sun and surroundings were against me, and getting good pictures proved a challenge.
