THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY

WITHERNSEA

Photos by Roger Piper Page last updated: 2012-06-06

June 2012

Roger visited Withernsea on a cold, wet and windy Sunday. Any visitors listening to Seaside Radio were doing it under cover, not on the beach or promenade.

Entering Withernsea on the B1362 with the lighthouse, now a museum, in the distance. Sadly the weather didn't match the painting!

Seaside Radio's tower and antenna, seen from Seaside Road

Viewed from the opposite side

(Editor's note: the rotator which appears to be attached to the tower is mounted on a pole on the chimney stack - not part of the broadcast installation)

Looking southeast along the almost deserted Central Promenade and empty beach
