Millburn Muir was a late addition to the 405-line transmitter network with BBC 1, VHF channel 1 entering service on 7th April 1969, closed October 1983. BBC FM radio was added in March 1975 and UHF TV on 3 channels from 13th June 1975. Channel 4 was added in November 1983.
The original tower was replaced for the re-engineering of BBC FM radio for mixed polarisation which entered service in December 1990. Radio's 1 & 4 were added on 10th December 1991. The 97.0 MHz ILR service (Clyde 1) was added in August 1993. The 100.0 MHz ILR service (Real Radio, now Heart FM), went into service on 6th June 2007. |
