THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY

How could I resist? One of the UK's iconic towers/transmitters to be lit up as part of local celebrations. It's only a 400-mile round trip for me after all... Getting there wasn't a problem, but finding a suitable vantage point was a little more difficult as the turnout was surprisingly large! |
I first tried Castle Hill as darkness started to fall. It was a little too far away for the zoom on my camera but at least you can get an impression of the start of the "show" from a distance. Relocating a little closer (the car park of the Three Acres Inn on Drinker lane, appropriately enough) afforded me a much better view, as the remaining images show. |
The exposure time for this one was around 20 seconds... ended up looking more dramatic than it did in reality, but that's just my opinion and I wouldn't want to argue that particular point with the hundreds of enthusiastic Yorkshire folk who lined the nearby roads! |
