WHITEHAVEN UHF

Photos by Bill Wright Page last updated: 2024-10-13

DAB added - June 2015

There are two towers at this site. The right tower transmits UHF TV, the FM relay of Carlisle ILR station CFM and the DAB transmissions of the Digital One and North Cumbria multiplexes. The left hand tower only transmits the BBC DAB multiplex. Two band III dipoles can be seen right at the top

UHF cylinder, two tiers of band III folded dipoles on the right, centre bottom of the picture is one of the two crossed band II yagis for ILR.

Zooming out slightly, both of CFM's crossed yagis come into view

UHF Troughs looking at Caldbeck for the RBL feed, and VP Band II yagi for CFM's RBL, also from Caldbeck

Close up of CFM's Rx yagi (Pity no one could cut the feeder to length !)

The BBC DAB dipoles at the top of the smaller tower, and a local finding that Caldbeck is a better choice in this location
