THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY

WHITBY BUSINESS PARK

Photos by Martin Brown Page last updated: 2023-07-20

August 2015

Since the earlier pictures were taken in 2007, there have been some changes. The most obvious is the addition of DAB aerials near to the top of the mast. The other changes are that the band II transmit aerials are now mounted at 45°, rather than vertical. Also the band II receive log periodics are now lower down the mast.

DAB service dates: Digital One, 7th February 2008; BBC, 6th February 2009.

Note that those band II logs are now lower down the mast.

The 2 x 4 element band II Yagis on the right are believed to be receiving Yorkshire Coast Radio from Oliver's Mount.

2 band III dipoles for DAB transmit.

The 2, 2 element band II transmit Yagis now slant polarised.

Band II receive logs. The pair pointing left are receiving BBC nationals from Pontop Pike. The other pair pointing more towards the camera are receiving BBC Tees from Bilsdale.
