BIDDULPH MOOR (RAILS FARM)

Photos by Alan Price Page last updated: 2016-09-08

Photos taken September 2016

This is the transmission site for Moorlands Radio, a community radio station serving the towns of Leek and Biddulph in the Staffordshire Moorlands.

The ridge that this site sits on is called Biddulph Moor, which has great views over the Peak District, the North West and Midlands. Well worth a trip if you're in the area.

Moorlands Radio launched on 7th November 2009.

Quite a compact site - the mast is 5 metres tall.

Two slanted dipole antennas pointing towards Leek. The ERP is 50 watts mixed polarization. These look like Jaybeam 7050.

The band I link receive antenna, aimed at studios in Leek 4 miles away.

This was just down the road. There is another similar tower a couple of miles away at Brown Edge.
