THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY

LEEDS (POTTERNEWTON HEIGHTS)

Photos by Alan Price Page last updated: 2017-04-13

April 2017

This site is on a tower block, not far away from the Headingley relay. It has great views over Leeds - as one of the photos show, you can see Emley Moor in the distance. Ofcom has this down as in service September 2010.

I love the 60s sign, no doubt original to when the block was built.

The square flat panel dish on the aerial pole is pointing towards Asian Fever's studios in Harehills.

Ofcom parameters show the licence requires 6 dB reduction centred on north east. The "in use" details, however, suggest this arrangement of dipole and reflector produces a 10 dB reduction between north and east. Maximum ERP to the south west - bearing 225.

Emley Moor around 15 miles away.
