THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY

NORTHAMPTON

Photos by Martin Brown Page last updated: 2017-04-23

April 2017

Nothing new to see here since Rob Shufflebotham visited in here in 2013. This Arqiva site is only across the road from Northampton University where I was photographing the aerials for the two community radio stations on the rooftop there. It was also a nice sunny day.

Six folded band II dipoles at the top transmit both local FM radio services. Four horizontal and two vertical. The horizontal pair on the right are facing northeast, the pair on the left, west-southwest. The vertical pair are facing roughly north-northwest.

Four slanted band II log periodics transmit the BBC national FM programmes. These are pointing roughly southeast and southwest. Below are the two band III log periodics transmitting DAB radio.

Two vertical band II log periodics receiving BBC nationals RBL from Peterborough.
