The start of the track up to this site is from the south in Lewistown where all the rooftop TV aerials point towards Blackmill. It is about a 1.2km uphill walk to the Ogmore Vale Tx. On this occasion sunny with a gentle cool breeze. Ideal walking conditions. BBC National DAB entered service on 16th November 2015. |
Two tiers of band III dipoles have been added on a cantilever at the top for DAB transmit. |
I suspect that the single vertical log below the platform was added at some point to sustain a low powered service while the main stack of 4 was being maintained. |
