Pole replacement and new receive aerials - May 2019

As part of the pole replacement project, Clachan received a new pole and Rx antenna. The new Tx antenna will be installed sometime in July/August.

[Ed]. 700 MHz band clearance is scheduled for Clachan on 14th August 2019. At this point it is planned that the transmit channels will change from 43/46/40 to 29/31/37. The parent station, South Knapdale, also moves from upper band V to lower band V on the same day.

Old (left) and new (right), poles. Note the steelwork awaiting the new Tx antenna.

[Ed]. This new transmit antenna steelwork looks as if a cylinder is to be fitted, as we have seen elsewhere.
