| Bruernish located on the beautiful Isle Of Barra is a small relay located close to the road. As you will see a set of horizontally polarised transmit aerials have been added to this vertically polarised TV relay. Why? |
| The original four tier, vertically polarised cardioid aerial remains at the top of the mast, however five horizontally polarised log periodic aerials have been added. These appear to be arranged for transmit, with the crossed logs on the left arranged to replicate the cardioid HRP, with the log on the right adding some coverage in the opposite direction. But why are they horizontally polarised? The information on both the Ofcom and Freeview websites still list Bruernish as transmitting vertical polarisation at the time of writing (December 2020). |
