New antenna build on concrete tower.

The text below is a educated guess as to what is happening at the site as I have no involvement with Arqiva. The new antenna is designed to allow the top of the tower to appear as near as possible as it would have done before the engineering work started in 2017.

Friday 28 May 2021 The VHF spine on the tower was exposed for a few months whilst the CV19 crisis forced engineering work to stop. The VHF spine has been kept in place and used as a support for the new S2 antenna. The large cylinder sections to cover the S2 antenna and small section on its side must be for the S1 antenna which will be mounted above the S2 antenna.

Friday 28 May 2021 S1 has a narrower diameter than the S2 antenna, therefore needs a step down stage. This will be mounted at the very top of the S2 spine.

Friday 28 May 2021 Already on the tower is support frame which the antenna panels will be attached. This frame will support the S2 antenna. The antenna support frame is mounted on the former VHF spine (Now the S2 spine).

Tuesday 08 June 2021 A large section of the external structure is now in place after several helicopter lifts. Unfortunately I was unable to attend Emley Moor to get pictures of the cylinder sections being dropped over the spine section.
