GARTLY MOOR

BBC national DAB entered service at Gartly Moor on 25-Mar-2015. Also since the earlier pictures were taken, 700 MHz clearance was implemented on 15-Aug-2018.

The UHF transmit panel aerials. These have not had to be replaced for 700 MHz band clearance, as they were designed to cover all the frequencies in band V. Also of note is that this is a three sided array of panels. See the next picture.

This picture clearly shows that there are three sets of panels arranged with 120 degree spacing around the tower. I'm not aware of this arrangement anywhere else.

Two band III dipoles in front of a screen for DAB transmit.

Gartly Moor retains its trough UHF receive aerials. The large SHF antenna at the bottom of the picture is also facing Durris and is likely to have been the receive antenna for the BBC programme feeds to Rosemarkie, via Knock More.

Round the other side of the tower is another large SHF antenna. Lower right. This is likely to have been the transmit antenna facing Knock More for the BBC programme feeds.

GPS antennas.

The site number is just readable. 112.02.
