THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY
LANGHOLM
| Photos by James Muir | Page last updated: 2022-09-01 |
New photos were requested for this site, so I was happy to oblige. I walked up to the top of Warb Law from Langholm on a warm August afternoon. There are stunning views up there towards the Lake District and the Scottish Border hills, well worth a visit if you get the chance. Transmissions of the BBC National DAB multiplex entered service at Langholm on 5-Sep-2014.

Warb Law trig point in the foreground - the elevation here is 275m / 902 feet above sea level.

The main changes since the previous Tx Gallery photo are the addition of BBC National DAB - as seen by the two band III dipoles at the top of the mast.

A closer view of the DAB transmit dipoles at the top of the mast.

DAB transmit dipoles and weathered DTT transmit panels at the top of the tower.

DTT receive log and weathered trough, both on Caldbeck.

DAB equipment cabin - note the obligatory GPS cones - and satellite dish for the programme feed.

View from the site towards Langholm and the distant Border hills.

The rich flora and fauna of Warb Law and the surrounding countryside.
