THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY

SHEFFIELD (CROSSPOOL) / TAPTON HILL

Photos by Martin Brown Page last updated: 2023-02-07

New DAB aerial - February 2023

A band III dipole has been added at Sheffield (Crosspool) / Tapton Hill to transmit the Sheffield and Rotherham local DAB multiplex.

A single band III dipole has been added near to the top of the tower between the local TV aerials and the Sheffield Live! (93.2 MHz) Sira band II transmit aerial.

The main interleaved band II and band III antenna system which transmits all the other FM radio and DAB multiplexes.

Band II receive aerials. The two horizontally polarised Yagis point towards Holme Moss. The vertically polarised Yagi points towards Emley Moor and probably receives the programme feed for Capital FM and Heart FM. The lower Holme Moss aerial is partly hidden by the top of some trees.
