AVOCH

New Rx antennas - May 2025

Avoch (pronounced Och) is sheltered from Rosemarkie, about 6 miles away, by intervening hills, located low down in a bay. The relay is located on a hill to the north east of Avoch, with good views towards Inverness. I assume the signal from Rosemarkie is sheltered here too, which is why the more distant Knock More is used.

Update list called for photos of the new receive aerials. An easy visit this, right by a road.

The receive array pointing at Knock More, 38.5 miles away. I wonder if the 4 Yagi's are due to the trees attenuating the signal?

The Tx hut has had a repaint and a sign added to it since the previous photos.
