BETWS-Y-COED

Photos by Robert Whittaker Page last updated: 2011-05-30

Photos taken May 2011

These photos were taken post DSO, but as can be seen there are no visible changes. The cylinder is the same and is now looking quite weatherbeaten, and RX is still from the pair of vertical troughs.

View of the relay from halfway up the valley

Detail of the BBC National VHF array. Two vertical dipoles pointing nominally west, and four horizontal dipoles, two each pointing north and south up and down the Conwy valley.

Two receive VHF yagis, pointing at Llanddona

The views from the site are spectacular. This is looking south west across towards Betws-y-Coed town

Looking north west up the Conwy valley. Llanrwst is the town in the centre of the picture
