HASTINGS

Photos by David Neale and Dave Coppen Page last updated: 2024-04-11

Pre-DSO

ILR Southern Sound was the first radio service from this site on 97.5 MHz from 5-Feb-1989. The frequency was changed to 102.0 MHz ahead of the addition of Radio 1 on 97.7 MHz. 102.0 MHz was the GE84 ILR allocation for Hastings. BBC Nationals were added on 30-Apr-1993 and Arrow FM from 10-Apr-1998 on
107.8 MHz.

These photos show Hastings carrying interim DTT as well as analogue television, together with FM and DAB.

The dipoles on the lower array appear shorter - presumably this was installed for the out-of-group interim DTT multiplexes?

Maximum ERP is to the north west and the "Old Town" area of Hastings is therefore served by its own relay.
