January 2012: BBC National DAB expansion

This new provision brings DAB improved coverage to the Stroud area of Gloucestershire. Whilst directed at the centre of Stroud (which sits at the junction of the "Five Valleys"), I am sure there is some benefit to those using the M5 behind the transmitting aerials.

High up on the edge of the Cotswold escarpment, its position should enable benefit those in Stroud, and drivers using the M5 between the area covered by Churchdown Hill to the north, and Dursley to the south.

The site is actually half a mile north west of the Stroud TV and local radio mast, which can be seen in the distance on one of the shots.

As the name suggests, the site is surrounded by trees

The dish just visible at the bottom probably provides the feed

For transmit: typical DAB dipoles

The much "busier" Stroud TV and Band II site - was there no room for DAB?
