Owned by Surf telecom, Fry's Hill has been a non-broadcast site until 2013. Pulse Radio (an Ofcom-licenced community radio station) selected this site for transmission of its signal serving Cheddar and surrounding areas in Somerset on 104.4MHz.

Despite the relatively low power licensed by Ofcom (25 w vertical + 25w horizontal), and the antenna null required at 345 degrees the signal propagates very well, especially to the south where this site demands panoramic views.

Closer view from East. The Pulse aerial is the 2 element folded dipole on left leg - about halfway up just below the big colinear

A close-up of the transmission antenna. Yes it is not straight - it is slanted - this is a pragmatic design decision to permit (partial) utilisation of horizontal licence power using simple antenna array.
