June 2022

Castledown FM (formerly Castledown Radio) main FM transmitter site at The Wellington Academy.

The site is situated on the outskirts of the village of Ludgershall - pronounced Lug-ger-shall, to catch out the unaware. A fill-in site at Tidworth Beech Hill Road was added circa 2021/2022.

On the left hand pole from top, end-fed dipole carrying the 104.7FM transmit, a two element, band I, horizontally polarised aerial, (STL receive), and a domestic UHF TV receive antenna pointed in direction of Hannington.

On the right hand pole from top, lightning conductor and another vertical omni-directional antenna, looks like it's for PMR.
