Aberbeeg is a low power station designed to fill in the gap between the neighbouring Abertillery and Llanhilleth relays. Abertillery is located on the opposite hillside, only 1 km away, but the valleys are very steep in this area which has left a pocket of poor reception at the base of the valley below.

Transmit antennas are two pairs of crossed vertically polarised log periodics pointing nominally south and east to the target area. RX is one vertical log on Abertillery.
