Hide historic services

The Pencader UHF relay is located to the North-North-East of the town of the same name.

There is a footpath across the field past the site, and an access track to the side of this Tx. I choose the footpath first, but quickly had to jimmy over the fence rather sharpish - some very angry rams soon saw to that! Hmmmm... got me thinking of new film titles.... "Ewe go mad", "Sheep on a plane", "Shawn of the dead"... anyway.... I used the access track.

Pencader was originally a BBC landlord site which entered service on 7-Sep-1979 to serve 700 people. S4C was available from the November 1982 launch.

Corporate branding seems to have gone somewhat astray here.

The TX provides broadcasts to the area from a 4 cardoid stack at the very top of the tower. RX is achieved by a single log periodic.
