mb21 - Refreshing the places others can't reach! Something like that anyway... Blackwaterfoot, on the Isle of Arran, provides TV services to a small valley shielded from sites on the mainland. Most of Arran receives its TV services from a variety of sites on the mainland. Darvel and Black Hill can be received along much of the east coast and Divis on the west coast. The relays at Claonaig, Carradale, Campbeltown, Rosneath and West Kilbride also provide a service to various parts of the island. Blackwaterfoot has the dubious honour of being the only broadcast site on Arran!

A more detailed view, from behind, showing the receive panel on Campbeltown near the base, with telemetry dish below, and the 4 bowtie stack at the top

The bowtie stack in detail, complete with birds nest below!

The receive panel - we believe this to be a Sira UTV-08: vertically-polarised yet horizontally-shaped

The site sits in the beautiful Arran countryside

The year was 1989

The ERP was increased from 8W to 40W.
